Solar Refinery · Kyekyerew · Under construction

A refinery rising in the Eastern Region.

The Kyekyerew project is a planned 10 tonne-per-hour edible-oil refinery with in-house HDPE blow-moulding and a planned 1 MW on-site solar system — designed for 24-hour, lower-carbon production targeting ECOWAS and AfCFTA markets.

Phase 2 Expansion

One site. Four production assets.

  • 10 TPH

    Planned refinery throughput

  • HDPE

    In-house blow-moulding line

  • 1 MW

    Planned on-site solar system

  • 350

    Planned direct jobs

Impact

What the refinery is designed to deliver.

  • Import substitution

Local refining reduces Ghana's reliance on imported cooking oil and helps stabilise consumer prices during foreign-exchange and shipping shocks.

  • Food security

A 10 TPH planned refinery materially adds to Ghana's domestic edible-oil capacity, with longer-term ECOWAS / AfCFTA upside.

  • Smallholder income

Guaranteed offtake at fair farmgate prices for the 20,000-plus smallholder farmer network feeding the refinery.

  • Lower-carbon production

The planned 1 MW on-site solar system is designed to reduce projected emissions per litre refined. Carbon performance will be reported only after verified measurement.

  • Export-ready Ghanaian supply

Bulk and packaged formats engineered for ECOWAS and AfCFTA logistics, with documentation workflows for cross-border edible-oil trade.

Capacity, emissions, jobs, revenue, and carbon-impact figures on this page are planned or projected. Philbro Oil will publish verified numbers as the project moves through commissioning and is independently measured.
